Depending on the complexity these drawings can take many months to complete. Whilst the majority of these paintings are offered for sale only as prints, new paintings are being completed and the originals will be inially offered for purchase through this site before being transfered to a Gallery for display and sale.
Out of The Chute
' Out of the Chute 'is an incredible piece of art. It's oil on canvass and 40" high.
It took over two months to complete. The final hurdle was the shirt for the Cowboy in the bottom
right. It took 6 days to get it right.
The scene came from the Duncan Mills Rodeo on the Russian River in Northern California, in fact the same Rodeo
that inspired 'Duncan Mills' and 'The Sweetheart of the Rodeo" (See below).

Duncan Mills
This is my first attempt at a large format painting. There are several 'errors'
that I need to amend &/or correct, but I think the current drawing is OK to be viewed.
I often thought that the original version should have been titiled along the lines of "... and then Flopsy saw the spider...", but until I think of something better I'll call it "Duncan Mills".
Duncan Mills is a small 'town' in Northern California. A hamlet in the middle of the redwoods. A beautiful place. Once a year they hold a rodeo and this painting originates from the 2005 show. When, or if, I get over the strain of painting the same cowboy for two weeks, having a fit over my inability to paint his left hand, and still him ending up with two front teeth that only Bugs Bunny would love, I'll paint another scene I have in my head - "The Sweetheart of the Rodeo" (Now finished - see below).
Duncan Mills is a large painting measuring 40 inches by 45 inches.
Sweetheart of the Rodeo
At long last here she is. There are things here that I love, the colors and the poise, the fact she has ended up with her eyes closed is a plus and only adds to the
feeling of someone serenly happy with their life. Like 'Duncan Mills' this picture is large and is set on canvas.
I'm wondering if prints would sell, so if you like this, please drop me a line and I'll consider
a limited run. I should also point out that the picture isn't intended to provide a resemblence of anybody, and is
not indicicative of any past, present or future Miss Grand National.
I think I over compressed the larger image, sorry. I'll see what I can do about improving it.
